Okaloosa VINELink Release Coverage
VINE means Victim Information and Notification Everyday. Florida VINE covers the Florida Department of Corrections and all 67 county jails according to FDC materials. Okaloosa's victim-rights brochure points to that statewide service rather than a separate county SAVIN system. Access is through Florida VINELink or the statewide line at 1-877-846-3435, which is available around the clock.
Coverage does not merge all records into one custody history. Okaloosa County Jail is a county Corrections agency. Okaloosa Correctional Institution is part of FDC. A result from either reporting agency speaks to its own custody or supervision event. A person who leaves the county jail for FDC has ended the county booking but remains confined. Likewise, an FDC release can begin parole, conditional release, probation, or community control.
VINE is designed for status and event notice. No official Florida source found in the research promises that an Okaloosa released result remains searchable for a set period or becomes a permanent archive. Search before an expected event when possible, register for the offered notice, and retain the message for comparison with the custodian's record.
Search Okaloosa Inmates on VINELink
The search is person-specific, not a list of everyone recently released. Begin with an exact name and an agency or offender identifier when offered. If several matches appear, do not choose by name alone. Compare the reporting agency, identifier, age or birth details that are lawfully displayed, custody location, and any other identifying field. A wrong match can produce an alert about a different person.
- Open Florida VINELink and make sure Florida is the selected state.
- Enter the person's exact name or the offered agency or offender identifier. Try a known alias only when the first search fails.
- Review every same-name match. Identify whether the record is from Okaloosa County Jail, FDC, or another Florida agency.
- Open the matching record and read the current status, location, agency, identifier, and available event information as separate fields.
- If the person is still held and notification is offered, register through that record. If the event already occurred, verify it with the reporting custodian.

Okaloosa VINELink Release Fields
A VINELink record may show the current status and offered event information supplied by the participating agency. The exact fields vary. The service should not be expected to reproduce a full Okaloosa jail release sheet or FDC sentence history. Its core value is linking a specific identity to a reporting agency, current status or location, and an offered notice event.

A released event from Okaloosa County Jail confirms that the county reported a custody change. It does not say whether the person bonded out, completed time, entered probation, or transferred. Ask County Risk Management for the booking and release sheet when durable proof of the timestamp, disposition, destination, or detainer is needed.
Register Okaloosa VINELink Release Alerts
Register from the matched person's record and choose among phone, text, email, or app channels when offered. Use a direct contact that the recipient can keep current. The selected event may concern release, transfer, or another custody change, so read its label before completing registration. Updating a VINELink contact does not automatically update a separate FDC Victim Services registration.
- Open the verified person's record and select the notification option associated with the event needed.
- Choose the offered phone, text, email, or app channel and enter the direct contact information.
- Complete any account or contact verification shown by VINELink.
- For telephone notice, select a four-digit PIN. Florida's FDC form says the default is the last four digits of the phone number if none is chosen.
- When the automated phone notice arrives, enter the PIN to acknowledge it and stop repeat calls. Text and email messages do not repeat in the same way.
- Save the notice, note the reporting agency, and verify the event with that jail or corrections department.
The PIN acknowledges the phone call. It is not the same as a web-account verification code, a jail identifier, or proof of release. If the phone number changes, update the registration before the expected event.
Okaloosa VINE Local Contact Layer
Okaloosa's official victim-rights material points to Florida VINE and the county jail rather than a separate local notification platform. This keeps the local layer clear: VINELink supplies the statewide search and alerts, while Okaloosa County Corrections confirms a county custody event at 850-689-5690. The jail is operated by the county Department of Corrections, not the Sheriff's Office.
For an FDC event, the statewide custody record belongs to FDC. Its Victim Services office can be reached at 1-877-884-2846 or 850-488-9166, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern, and at Victim.Services@FDC.MyFlorida.com. Use the channel tied to the relevant registration while keeping the direct reporting agency as the final source for custody status.
Okaloosa County and State Events
A county release and a state-prison release are separate events. If Okaloosa County transfers a person to FDC, the county record should show the destination. After FDC admits the person, Current Inmate supplies the state location and Current Release Date. When the state confinement ends, Inmate Release supplies the completed Release Date, and Supervised Population may show what follows.
For a person released from Okaloosa Correctional Institution, compare the VINE notice with the FDC release detail. Then check supervision at once. Active parole, conditional release, probation, or community control means the person is outside prison while a state sanction continues. Scheduled Termination Date is the expected end of that supervision, not the date of prison departure.
For a county-only sentence, an FDC search may be empty because FDC excludes people whose sole sanction was county jail or county probation. Confirm the physical county release through Okaloosa Corrections and the release sheet. ClerkQuest can explain the court order or sentence, but it does not replace the jail's exit timestamp.
Note: A VINE release event ends only the reporting agency's custody status and may be followed by transfer or supervision.
Okaloosa VINELink Release Limits
Data can lag, names can be misspelled, agency feeds can change, and no released-result retention period is promised. A no-result is inconclusive. If an alert says released, save the notice and ask the named agency for its completed record. For the Okaloosa jail, call Corrections or request the release sheet. VINELink does not replace the Bureau of Prisons locator for a sentenced federal prisoner. A BOP result marked Released or Not in BOP Custody speaks only to federal prison custody. Pretrial federal cases require the Northern District docket and the actual U.S. Marshals Service contract custodian because USMS has no public nationwide detainee locator.
Immigration custody also uses its own route. ICE's Online Detainee Locator covers current detainees and certain people released within a limited recent period, subject to exclusions and lag. A transfer from the Okaloosa jail to ICE is not a community release, even though the county booking ended.
